Anyuta ballet set to music by Valery Gavrilin - rehearsals

The Mariinsky Theatre presents the first ballet premiere of the season, "Anyuta", set to music by Valery Gavrilin. The ballet, based on Anton Chekhov's short story "Anna on the Neck", was co‑created by Vladimir Vasiliev and premiered in Italy in 1986 before being staged at the Bolshoi Theatre and other venues across Russia and abroad. Today it is performed in over a dozen Russian cities and the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus.
