The single also topped the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart for seven weeks, reached number five on the UK Singles Chart, and peaked at number four on the Billboard R&B chart, while it was the Bee Gees’ only track to top the dance chart. In Canada it was their sixth number‑one, and it finished the year as the 31st‑best‑selling single on the Hot 100. The song was featured prominently in the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever and appears on its soundtrack; it also appeared in Short Circuit, Donnie Brasco, and Despicable Me. Live performances during the 1979 Spirits Having Flown tour included Andy Gibb on backing vocals.
