Maharashtra meteorite fall: A scientific opportunity and the search for a missing piece

On March 3, three pieces of a meteorite fell on a small village in the Beed district of Maharashtra. The first piece crashed into the Ambure family's house, the second bounced off their roof and fell on the village road, and the third piece fell on a nearby field, where some children were playing. The scientists have confirmed that these three pieces were from the same meteorite. After an initial analysis at the MGM Science Centre in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, it has been sent to Kolkata for further investigation.
