In December of last year, police arrested two suspects in Pushkin after they robbed a mobile phone store, taking 2,700 rubles and threatening the manager with a gun. The men, both 29 and from the village of Shushary—one a former security guard and the other unemployed—were charged with robbery under Article 162 of the Russian Criminal Code. Investigations revealed that they had previously carried out four similar attacks in the St. Petersburg area, including a 600,000‑ruble robbery in November 2017 and a 20,000‑ruble heist four months later. They were also linked to robberies in the Kalinin district, where they stole 440,000 rubles and four smartphones in September of the previous year, and 230,000 rubles and six mobile phones in a later incident. Police seized weapons, masks, gloves, and two cars used in the crimes. The cases were consolidated into a single investigation, and additional charges of banditry and illegal possession of firearms were filed. The suspects remain in custody, and the investigation team has been recommended for departmental recognition.
