Wario Land 4: Part 2: Boss 1: Spoiled Rotten

After completing all levels in a passage and collecting four jewel pieces, you can access the boss room beyond the mini‑game shop. A black cat follows Wario, and before the boss room there's an item shop with a Game & Watch‑style shopkeeper. Medals earned from mini‑games can buy special weapons that automatically damage bosses before Wario attacks, or you can pay no medals for free smiles and sounds. The first boss is Spoiled Rotten, a giant moving eggplant that is initially sleepy and weak, but becomes a monster when hurt. You can attack him from the front or back; once he becomes a monster, you can only hit him from the back. All boss fights are timed. After defeating Spoiled Rotten and clearing the entry passage, Wario gains access to four more passages with larger sets of levels before their bosses. The game is quirky, especially in music, sound effects, and characters, including the shopkeeper.
