On this day, the Christian community commemorated the memory of Plato and Roman, recalling the reign of Roman Emperor Maximinus, the third beginning of the fourth century. In the northern regions of Russia, people marked the autumn with a memorial for the winter, sometimes with snow-themed activities. The winter was eager to accept invitations, and the calendar reminded everyone that each season has its own cycle. Finally, the last November leaf turned, the old woman went to rest, and December took charge of time, "the year ending, starting winter." In the Slavic view, winter was a fully animated being.
