In the 26th July "Dienas ziņas" program, we discuss current events in Latvia, its regions, and worldwide. Russia intensified large‑scale air attacks, prompting the Ukrainian president to order a significant increase in drone countermeasure production. In a private visit to Scotland, US President Donald Trump arrived, and EU Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen also visited Scotland, hoping to achieve progress in US and EU trade negotiations. The National Library of Latvia opened an exhibition "Lidija 100", dedicated to the centenary of Lidija Doroņina‑Lasmane, a participant of the resistance movement. A memorial event was held in Ķekava, honoring the site of the Latvian riflemen's sacrifice – the Kuģu brothers' graves.
