In the latest episode of "Our Land," the program delves into one of the most dangerous humanitarian crises threatening Taiz Governorate: the water crisis. Since it was declared a "water-stressed city" in 2013, Taiz has seen rapid decline in water security. The water network, once covering more than 80 % of the population, now supplies only 16 %, a situation worsened by war, climate change and poor resource management. The episode features two experts—a former Minister of Water and Environment and the engineer in charge of the water institute in Taiz—who discuss the tragedy, the challenges facing rural areas, the shortcomings of current interventions, and possible solutions such as the Talooq water project and seawater desalination as a future option.
