Barrister Babu, an Indian drama dubbed in Turkish as Aşkın Kanunu, is set in 1920s India during British rule. It follows Bondita Das, an eight‑year‑old girl who challenges traditional customs, and Anirudh Roy Choudhary, a lawyer who seeks to reform society. Bondita writes a letter to her future husband with two conditions—plenty of sweets and her mother’s presence—which ends up in Anirudh’s hands. After her fiancé dies before the wedding, the village tries to burn Bondita, but she collapses and Anirudh saves her by marrying her. The series explores whether their marriage can turn into a strong relationship and whether Anirudh can achieve his vision for his country.
