Welcome to the little‑known part of Saudi Arabia where the landscape is anything but desert. Located in the southwestern part of the country on the border with Yemen, the Fayfa Mountains are home to a relatively isolated community that has developed its own unique dialect of Arabic, architectural style, and local cuisine. In this video, we meet the people who call this place home, try traditional mountain food, and hike through some of the most beautiful nature I've ever seen. The journey begins with an introduction at 0:00, followed by a traditional Saudi mountain lunch at 0:41. At 5:43 we play with the host family's kids, then at 7:53 we observe an incense ritual.
