Embraced by Darkness, a Dutch black metal band formed a few winters ago, has carved a reputation for blending relentless aggression with haunting atmospheres. Their debut EP MMXXII, released in 2022 during the pandemic, garnered over 50,000 Spotify streams and established them as a rising force in the extreme metal underground. Building on that momentum, the band recorded their first full-length album, Ex Inferis, at Armageddon Studio in 2023–2024, produced by Anders Backelin. The twelve-track record showcases the band at its most ferocious, exploring themes of destruction, the fall of false prophets, and devotion to the dark path. With a lineup of guitarists Schmerz and Schrat, bassist Vålnad, drummer Mort, and vocalist Thimron, and guest musicians on drums and vocals, Embraced by Darkness continues to deliver unrelenting chaos and atmosphere on stage and in the studio.
