The UH Men's Basketball team had a potential shot at being #1 in the Big West Standings after their final homestand against UC Riverside on 2/23 and against UC Irvine on 2/25. Unfortunately, UH blew as much as an 11-point lead to lose by 2 to UCR, 54-52, but they rebounded to win by 5 over UCI, 72-67. UC Irvine was a first‑ever sellout since the 2016 season, and UH lost Bernardo da Silva to a sprained ankle. Mor Seck and Harry Rouhliadeff picked up the slack with Seck having a career‑high 14 points, 16 rebounds, and 4 blocks while Rouhliadeff had 10 points and 1 rebound. UH is in 4th place in the standings, but they are just one game out of first place, which is a 3‑way tie between UCI, UCR, and UC Santa Barbara. UH will now travel on the road at CSUN and UCSB for their final two games to complete the season before the Big West Tournament in Henderson, NV.
