According to Gunn, Superman is just not as recognizable in some parts of the world as, say, Batman. And geopolitical events in certain global hotspots have raised anti-American sentiment, which could be hurting box office numbers. Still, the movie is the number one film in the world going on two weeks, and has received near-universal praise from critics and fans. Kevin Feige gave an update on the current status of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ahead of the release of the highly-anticipated Fantastic Four: First Steps.
