A Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) team sedates and loads a rhino into a transport crate as part of an 18‑day translocation project, which takes 21 eastern black rhinos to Segera Conservancy in Laikipia County. The initiative is part of a larger plan to establish a new rhino range and boost the national population. According to the International Rhino Foundation (IRF), there are only about 28,000 rhinos left in the world, including nearly 24,000 in Africa. More than 2,000 of them live in Kenya.
