Bow Wow (formerly Lil' Bow Wow) released "Bow Wow (That's My Name)" in 2000 as the second single from his debut album *Beware of Dog*, featuring Snoop Dogg. The track samples "Dernier Domicile Connu" by François de Roubaix and "Atomic Dog" by George Clinton. A radio edit replaces Snoop's rap with a new verse and removes profanity. The music video, directed by Dave Meyers and shot in Los Angeles, earned the #1 spot on BET's 106 & Park and was the first video retired from the show. The single won the 2001 Billboard Music Award for Rap Single of the Year and the BET Award for Viewer's Choice. Bow Wow's career began after being discovered by Snoop Dogg, leading to a contract with So So Def and subsequent albums, film roles, and a 2015 management deal with Bad Boy Records.
