Polls open in Mexico for unprecedented elections making it the world's only country to select its judges at all levels by popular vote. The government says the reform is needed to tackle deep-rooted corruption and impunity, but critics fear it will politicize the judiciary and leave candidates vulnerable to the influence of organized crime and other vested interests.
