State sues Roblox over alleged failed protection

Louisiana sued Roblox, alleging the platform fosters an environment where sexual predators target children. Attorney General Liz Murrill claimed Roblox prioritizes growth and profits over safety, citing gaps in age verification and moderation. The lawsuit follows similar cases, including one in Iowa involving a 13‑year‑old allegedly trafficked after meeting an adult predator on Roblox. While the platform restricts sharing personal information and is testing age verification features, Murrill argues these measures are insufficient and called for Roblox to be shut down, ABC News has reported. Roblox says it is implementing AI systems and other safeguards to detect and prevent child exploitation.
