It is a war crime to use starvation as a method of warfare, says UN spokesperson Jeremy Laurence as he reads a statement from UN rights chief Volker Turk, after famine was declared in the Gaza Strip. The resulting deaths may also amount to the war crime of wilful killing, he adds.
