Addiction Isn’t What You Think… 🧠💔

In a famous experiment, rats were given a bottle of plain water and a bottle of water laced with drugs. Alone in a cage, they almost always chose the drugs and overdosed. Then came Rat Park, a new environment with friends, toys, tunnels, cheese, and connection. The rats stopped drinking the drug water, and the overdose rate dropped from nearly 100% to 0%. This suggests that addiction may not be about the drug itself but about the environment and the ability to connect. The opposite of addiction is not sobriety but connection.
