Waving Union Jack flags and chanting "We want our country back", supporters of the far‑right Britain First party marched in Manchester. A series of anti‑immigration protests have taken place across the UK in recent weeks, spurred on by demonstrations in Essex after an asylum seeker was charged with sexual assault against a minor in July. A counter‑protest also took place opposite the Britain First protest.
