US Army Golden Knights Base Jump off Parriott Mesa, Moab After Class 5 Climb!!

We had the pleasure of climbing a stunning and technical Class 5 route up Parriott Mesa, then met two members of the elite US Army Parachute Team, the Golden Knights, who conducted a BASE jump off the shear to the overhanging south face of the mesa. They performed the jump professionally, and I captured amazing footage, including Jonathan's helmet cam. The route was protected by a couple of hand lines, a third missing, and a lightweight Via Ferrata‑style cable line that was 80% worn. The ropes abrade and deteriorate in sunlight, so climbers should be prepared to climb without relying on existing protection. Despite the risks, the climb was spectacular and safely achievable by properly equipped and trained rock climbers. DJI drone footage captured the extensive vistas, jump perspectives, and climbing challenges.
