Prince Suleiman, son of Yavuz Sultan Selim, learns of his father's death and rushes to Istanbul, where he quickly ascends to the throne, attends the culus ceremony, and begins his reign as Sultan Suleiman. Amidst this, a galley carrying slaves arrives from the Black Sea, and a rebellious slave seeks to change his fate. The series follows Suleiman's early days as sultan, his challenges to Europe, his relationships with key figures such as Hürrem Sultan and Mahidevran, and the political intrigue of the Ottoman court.
