On December 25, 1973, Vladimir Vysotsky performed a solo concert at the Moscow Scientific and Research Television Institute (MNITI). The performance was secretly recorded on a Sony AVC‑3450CE camera and a Sony AV‑3400 tape recorder, with two 30‑minute tapes capturing 20 songs. Although Vysotsky initially forbade recordings, he later agreed after persuasion. The tapes were confiscated by the Party Committee, which ordered their destruction, but only the second tape was returned and hidden. Years later, the restoration team faced technical challenges: the Sony tape ran at 30 fps, incompatible with the 25 fps Russian TV standard, and the equipment had deteriorated. Despite these obstacles, the team managed to digitize and preserve the rare footage, making it available to the public.
