Today in the Chaikhāna.Stream studio, we feature ayacantstop—a performative DJ and musician from Turkmenistan, now based in Berlin. Aya blends traditional backyard “toi” dances and childhood music with electronic rhythms, creating a vibrant mix of techno, breakbeat, electro, and oriental motifs that feels like a Turkmen carpet. She constantly experiments with sound, favoring broken rhythms and dense percussion, and has performed at the Stihia festival and clubs across Central Asia, bringing energetic and distinctive sounds to the dancefloors. The Chaikhana show, hosted by DJ Edigee, showcases Central Asian electronic music and provides a platform for DJs and musicians to share stories and music.
