The Moskva missile cruiser, a flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, served from 1982 until its sinking in 2022. It was involved in operations around Snake Island during the Ukraine invasion. On 13 April 2022, it was struck by two R‑360 Neptune anti‑ship missiles launched from the coast, after earlier disabling its radar with Bayraktar TB2 drones. The attack caused a fire, damage, and the ship eventually sank on 14 April. Rescue operations saved 54 crew members, while many others were lost. The incident marked Russia's most costly naval loss in the war.
