Liverpool driver suspected on drugs before parade tragedy

A 53‑year‑old man drove his Ford Galaxy into a crowd of Liverpool fans celebrating the Premier League title, following an ambulance through a temporarily lifted roadblock. The crash injured 65 people, including four children, but no deaths were reported. Police arrested the driver on suspicion of attempted murder, dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs. Merseyside Assistant Chief Constable Jenny Sims said the incident was not terrorism and that an investigation was underway. King Charles, Prince William and Princess Catherine expressed shock and sympathy, urging community support for the victims.
