On 26 December 2024 at 11:00, police together with unidentified individuals in military uniform stopped truck driver Oleksandr Filon at the Nizhni Vorota checkpoint in Mukachevo district, Zakarpattia region. Filon handed over his passport and military card for inspection. He later claimed that the unknown officers seized his documents and have not returned them. As of 29 December, he remains locked inside his truck cabin and cannot continue driving. According to Filon, the police say he is wanted for the “Oberyg” base, yet they have not specified the offense or the legal basis for his detention. He also noted that his military card indicates he is exempt from military registration due to a congenital limb shortening of six centimetres. Filon is currently involved in court proceedings against the Traffic Control Center (TCC) and anticipates another hearing soon. The manager of the transport company he works for responded to the media, mentioning complaints filed with the local police and the involvement of the Investigation‑Operational Group, but the situation remains unresolved.
