Anđelka Bojanić, a young lawyer, officially divorces her husband Tom after their first night together. She leaves Belgrade, moves to Trebinje in Herzegovina, where she starts a new life as a clerk in court. There she meets her aunt Nade and a woman named Ruža, who turns out to be the mother of Nenad, an aviator. The episode follows Anđelka’s attempts to rebuild her life, navigate the conservative patriarchal society of 1936 Yugoslavia, and deal with the lingering ghosts of her past, including a forbidden love that led to her divorce. The series, based on Mir Jam’s novel, explores Anđelka’s struggle for love and self‑respect amid the social taboos of the interwar period.
