Спецоперация УФСБ и МВД РД в п. Ленинкент, РД, 13-14 апреля 2016

On 13–14 April 2016, FSB and Ministry of Internal Affairs forces carried out a special operation in the village of Lenin-Kent, Kirovsky District, Makhachkala. Intelligence had revealed that armed militants involved in terrorist‑related crimes were hiding in a private house. The house was sealed, the surrounding area cordoned, and a legal regime was imposed. Residents of nearby houses were evacuated. When the militants refused to surrender and opened fire with automatic weapons, the special forces engaged them. Three militants, including the gang leader Kamil Magomedov (born 1986), were neutralized. The operation was conducted without casualties among civilians or law‑enforcement personnel, and FSB explosives specialists were on site to handle potential threats.
