We set out on a six‑kilometre raft trip along the Yauza River from Mytishchi to Moscow, covering the distance in about four hours. The river starts in a lake‑like stretch with small islands, then narrows and winds through reeds, with trees hanging low over the water, creating a tunnel‑like feel. Along the way we had to maneuver around fallen trees, debris, and occasional bridges or pipes, which added a sense of obstacle course. In the city the river runs through a landscaped park, straightens, and is lined with many bridges, tunnels, and hydraulic structures, giving a very different atmosphere and stronger currents. Low light in the evening made filming difficult, so some dark sections were cut from the final video. We passed through most tunnels, except one that was too dark, and avoided a fast‑moving stretch with debris. Passers‑by were surprised to see us rafting, and a local warned us that the area is a nature reserve, but we continued. The trip ended near the Babushkinskaya metro station. I would like to raft upstream near the “losinka” area, but need to know where it is allowed to paddle.
