Hassan Raphael, a DJ from London based in Brussels and part of the Bumpy Ride record label, discovered Taiwanese funk and disco records while living in Taipei in 2015, which inspired a deeper exploration of Taiwanese music. On a recent return trip, he unearthed 80s and 90s records influenced by City Pop, Boogie, and Italo disco, forming the core of this mix. He expresses gratitude to the passionate Taiwanese music community and recommends Vicki Huang (Salt District Mayor) and Rickard Masip’s channel Ultradiskopanorama for further insight into early Taiwanese music.
