The martyrdom of Saints Sergius and Vakha is recounted. Emperor Maximian, unaware of their Christian faith, appointed them to high military positions. When their non‑pagan beliefs were reported, Maximian demanded they sacrifice to idols, but they refused, affirming worship of the One God. The emperor stripped them of their military insignia, forced them into women's clothing, and paraded them through the city with iron collars. He then sent them to Antioch, a harsh ruler of eastern Syria, who, after a brief conversation, ordered their torture. Vakha was beaten with scourges, and Sergius was forced to wear iron‑spiked boots and was later beheaded. Their steadfast faith led to their martyrdom around 300 CE.
