Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has signed a free trade deal with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, boosting exports with UK cars and whisky cheaper to export to India and Indian textiles and jewellery cheaper to export to the UK. The deal, which the UK government says will boost the British economy by £4.8 bn a year, took three years to agree and also commits to a new India‑UK plan to tackle illegal migration.
