“We have been kidnapped”: Israeli military intercepts Greta Thunberg’s ship

Greta Thunberg’s humanitarian ship was intercepted by the Israeli military while attempting to reach the Gaza Strip. A prerecorded video of Thunberg, a prominent climate activist, was released in which she calls for help after being "intercepted and kidnapped." Israel’s Foreign Affairs Ministry issued a statement saying the ship was "safely making its way to the shores of Israel" and that the passengers were expected to return to their home countries. Thunberg was aboard with other activists, and the vessel was carrying food and supplies for Palestinians in the war‑ravaged Gaza Strip. Israel had warned on Sunday that its military would stop the ship before it reached shore.
