In its first season, Arisu and Usagi cleared all of the games and returned to the real world, marrying and living happily together. Their memories of Borderland were erased, though they occasionally glimpse it in dreams and hallucinations. One day, Usagi suddenly disappears, led by the afterlife researcher Ryuji. At the same time, Banda hands Arisu the final Joker card, setting the stage for an uncharted journey guided by the mysterious Joker and a new series of deadly games.
