Produced by Krishnaswamy associates (p) Ltd in 1981, Perunthalaivar K. Kamaraj, popularly known as the "Kingmaker", played an important role in pre- and post-Independent politics in India. As the president of the Indian National Congress, he was instrumental in navigating the party after the death of Jawaharlal Nehru. During his 10‑year reign as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the state saw humongous economic growth. He is still remembered for bringing school education to millions of the rural poor by introducing free education and the free Midday Meal Scheme.
