The Black-crowned Jay and Rufous Sibia visit a wild Himalayan pear tree for fruit and insect fare. The Rufous Sibia, also known as the Black-capped Sibia or Three Cheers bird, has smart blue wings, a rufous‑brown body, and a black cap. Hanging upside down, it plunders the tree and bites off big chunks of ripe wild pear fruit, calling the "Three Cheers" call. The bird is seen here at Jabbarkhet in the western Himalaya. The fruiting Himalayan pear tree provides a colourful burst of autumn palette. Wild Himalayan pear trees blossom and proliferate at the Jabbarkhet wildlife sanctuary. We encourage planting many pear trees as they feed butterflies, bees, and birds with their nectar and fruit, and we plan to create an entire forest of wild pear trees someday.
