Legendary Dokken released the digital single and video for the song ‘Hard Rock Woman’. The track had previously been available only on a sold‑out limited edition 7” vinyl released in 2020 to celebrate the release of Dokken’s The Lost Songs: 1978‑1981. ‘Hard Rock Woman’ is a raw rock anthem taken from the vaults, clearly illustrating the talent and youthful energy that led to the birth of Dokken. In 1978, Don Dokken was living in Manhattan Beach, CA, and a few blocks from his house was a vintage music store called Drakes Music. The store was owned by Drake Levin, the original guitarist in Paul Revere & the Raiders. Don and Drake became good friends, and Drake offered Don a chance to record in a professional studio during late‑night downtime. Drake hired Bill Lordon on drums and Rusty Allen on bass, both of whom were playing with Robin Trower at the time. They recorded two songs: ‘Hard Rock Woman’ and ‘Broken Heart’. The single is now available as a standalone digital release.
