The video showcases the production and testing of Russia’s electronic warfare system L‑370 Vitebsk, designed to shield aircraft and helicopters from missiles. Interviewed by journalist Alexey Egorov with developers from the Federal State Research Institute of Electronic Warfare, the system comes in two variants: L‑370 for helicopters and Vitebsk‑25 for aircraft. It detects and counters missile launches, often saving pilots, and is already installed on aircraft such as the Il‑96‑300 flown by the Russian president, the Su‑25SM3, Ka‑52, Mi‑26, Mi‑8 and Mi‑35M. The core of the system is the active parasite station L‑370‑3S, which outpaces other EW systems like Sorptsiya on the Su‑27 and Omul on the Su‑25. It evaluates radar radiation intensity, suppresses signals across a wide frequency range, and includes missile‑protection with a heat shield. The system can autonomously detect missile launch, deploy passive parasite, thermal decoys, and active protection in infrared and radio bands, providing only attack angle and threat nature to the operator. Future plans include equipping Il‑76, Il‑78, An‑72, An‑124 and the promising Il‑112V with this technology.
