I Explored Saudi's City on the Yemeni Border 🇸🇦 (Jazan)

After driving 13 hours from Riyadh, we reached Jazan: Saudi Arabia's southernmost major city bordering Yemen and the Red Sea. I met up with famous local content creator and guide Bassam Al‑Fifi (بسام الفيفي) who took me to a local restaurant where we had a feast of Jazan's unique cuisine, from giant lamb and rice platters to seafood stews and fish from the Red Sea. It also happened to be Saudi Arabia's national holiday "Founding Day" (يوم التأسيس), where they celebrate the unification of the Kingdom by getting together and dressing up in traditional outfits. Bassam's mom dressed me in her beautiful 40‑year‑old dress from the nearby mountain region, and we went out to a festival to meet and mingle with the locals.
