Deep is a 2017 computer-animated kids film by director Julio Soto Gurpide, inspired by his personal deep sea diving experiences and made with an environmental message in mind. Comparisons have been made between it and Pixar's Finding Nemo, to put it mildly, but they actually tell very different stories. When our heroes reach "the city of man," a flooded New York City, they explore a toy store and find a scuba diver figurine, which they think is a real human. Maura then eats it.
