On 6 August, the first echelon of Russian troops arrived in Belarus to participate in joint training "Zapad-2025", bringing equipment as reported by the Belarusian Ministry of Defense. The ministry noted that Belarusian and Russian forces are at the final stage of preparation. In the "Suspilne Studio" interview, Ivan Tymochko, head of the Reserve Council of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, explained that Russia had previously conducted training in Belarus to prepare for an offensive against Ukraine and to intimidate neighboring countries such as Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and others. Tymochko also discussed why these trainings are happening now and whether Belarus plans an offensive toward northern Ukraine.
