Half a million people face starvation in the coming months, an assessment by the UN-backed Integrated Food Security Phase Classification said after the 11-week aid blockade by the Israelis. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanhyahu accused some of his country’s closest allies of “being on the wrong side of humanity” after the UK, French and Canadian leaders criticised Israel for its ongoing military escalation and lack of humanitarian aid in Gaza.
