At least 11 hospitalized after shooting in South Carolina beach town

At least 11 people were hospitalized Sunday night after a shooting near a boat dock in Little River, South Carolina, a beach town near the North Carolina border. Police said the shooting, which occurred around 10:20 p.m. ET, was confined to an area near the Intracoastal Waterway and poses no ongoing threat to the community. Some victims arrived at hospitals by private vehicles. Authorities have not confirmed how many shooters were involved or the cause of the incident. A responding North Myrtle Beach police officer was injured when his gun accidentally discharged, causing a leg wound, WPXI 11 News has reported. The investigation is ongoing.
