Description :

The shy, skulking yet omnipresent Blue Whistling Thrush in Mussoorie, similar to the Malabar Whistling Thrush or Whistling Schoolboy, can be seen digging for insects and picking up grubs in the Jabbarkhet forests. As seen preening here, the Himalayan or Blue Whistling Thrush is one of the most noteworthy mountain birds of India's Himalayan region. With its orange beak and mild white striations against a blue‑black body, it is a pleasing bird to behold, and its wide range of calls is even more noteworthy. A common bird seen around hill‑station towns, it squeals and whistles its way around and nests in crevices and holes in rocky banks.
