We were lucky enough to host a number of international guests over the summer and last but certainly not least we have Mexico’s finest, Covagrooviest. David passed through to drop a quick set showcasing some of his boogie 7s and deep 12’’ cuts found in depths of his collection. On point selections throughout, Covarrubias effortlessly flows between US and Latin boogie with ease, lots of which went straight onto our want list. A mainstay DJ in the booming scene of his native Mexico City, Covagrooviest forged his name at the now infamous underground cumbia parties of Nazas. Currently he runs the music program at Choza, a beautiful and in-demand Thai-inspired Mexican restaurant and listening bar in CDMX. You can find him DJing there most weekends as well as touring across Europe and Asia.
