Description :

Al‑Masjid an‑Nabawi, built in 622 CE after the Hijra by Prophet Muhammad, is one of Islam’s most important mosques located in Medina, Saudi Arabia. Over the centuries it has been expanded and restored by the Umayyads, Abbasids, Mamluks, Ottomans, and the modern Saudi state, giving it its current vast, modern form. The mosque features large courtyards, numerous domes and minarets, and the famous Green Dome. Inside, Rawda al‑Mutahhara lies between the Prophet’s tomb and his pulpit, a revered spot for visitors. Open year‑round, the mosque sees increased crowds during Hajj and Umrah, and is accessible from the Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport.
