Metal Slug 3: Mission 1: A Couple's Love Land (All Routes Shown)

Metal Slug 3 opens on an abandoned nuclear island filled with mutated creatures, including crabs. The player encounters the wandering ghost girl Rumi Aikawa, who offers help. The level splits into two main routes: 1:50–6:47 the Lower Route/The Underwater Trench, where you dive with the Slug Mariner, face moray eels and a miniboss of Ohumein‑Conga crabs before the Rebel Army attacks; 6:48–7:29 the Upper Route/Into the Jungle, where you battle flying locusts and can enter the sunken ship Asia Maru, encountering a monkey named Utan. From the jungle, 7:30–8:29 leads into the Sunken Ship, and 8:30–11:15 follows the Infested Rivers, where you ride the Borobune Slug and fight the Rebel Army. Regardless of the path, the boss between 5:35–6:48 and 10:08–11:15 is the SV‑001 Type‑R “Gold Slug” on a boat, which is faster than the Slugnoid and requires careful dodging of its attacks.
