Description :

Slewing is a willow weaving technique that involves working two or more rods together, one above the other, around the basket's sides. The process starts with a single rod, and when half its length is worked, a second rod is added on top, and both are worked together. As each rod finishes, its top is left on the outside, and a new rod is laid above the previous ones between the same stakes, maintaining an odd number of stakes. For three‑rod slewing, a second rod is added after about one‑third of the first rod is worked, and a third after about two‑thirds, with additional rods added as needed to keep the pattern continuous.
