This project is a high-speed robotic system capable of solving a Rubik’s Cube in just 0.103 seconds, making it the world record holder for the fastest robot to solve a puzzle cube as of the upload date. It demonstrates the extremes of synchronized, high-acceleration motion and precisely coordinated multi-axis control. The system integrates high-speed machine vision for color recognition, an advanced solving algorithm optimized for minimal execution time (rob-twophase on GitHub), and industrial automation hardware for precise and synchronized high-speed motion control. All build details are currently being organized and will be attached here once complete. We gratefully acknowledge the following sponsors whose support was essential to the success of this project. Kollmorgen: Motion Systems Sponsor - Supplied industry-leading motion systems solutions including Servo Motors (AKM2G), Drivers (AKD2G), and Programmable Controller Multi-axis Master (PCMM2G). This hardware was essential to achieve this level of coordinated high-acceleration motion control. Kron Technologies: High-Speed Camera Sponsor - Provided the Chronos 4K12 high-speed camera, which proved essential for debugging motion systems. SpeedCubeShop: Puzzle Retail Sponsor — Provided the Rubik’s Cubes and cube lubricant used throughout development and testing. Apple: Compute System Sponsor — Provided a fully equipped M3 Ultra Mac Studio, enabling high-performance image processing and solution generation. Purdue University: Research Sponsor — Supported the project with general supplies, lab space, machine vision system hardware, and advising.
